Offaly County Football Champions Congratulations to our victorious football team who yesterday won the U13 Cumann na mBunscol Offaly Football Final against Birr in St Brendan’s Park.  Having been beaten earlier in the competition by the same team the boys knew that a great effort would be needed to come out on top.  Taking advantage of the conditions the boys went into an early lead that they were never to give up.  The game was very even in the second half but the defence held out and we ended up winners in the end on a score of 3 12 to 6 points.  To celebrate our win the panel had...

First Holy Communion Sunday 13th May saw our Second Class pupils make their First Holy Communion.  It was a break from tradition in that each school had their ceremony at 12 o clock mass on the Sunday, which all agree is a positive change.  Each child was able to participate in the ceremony on an individual basis.  The pupils looked beautiful on the day, and the great weather made it more special.  The choir for the ceremony performed excellently, and was made up of siblings of the First Communicants from our school.  In another break with tradition the children are making donations to a charity...

Scoil Chrónáin Naofa, Dromakeenan   Easter Newsletter 2012   Mad Hair Day Mad Hair day was a roaring success last Friday. The pupils came to school with an array of hairstyles and colours. Some enjoyed spraying their hair the colours of the rainbow, while others did Jedward impersonations. Interestingly some took on an Easter theme and had chicks (not real ones!!) nesting in their hair. One girl even managed to disguise a mineral can in her hair sculpture. The staff joined in the fun too. A cheque for €500.00 from our charity fund went to Today FM’s Shave or Dye Campaign for Cancer...
