On Thursday last we celebrated Grandparents Day and welcomed grandparents of the pupils in 2nd and 6th Class to our prayer service for Catholic Schools week. There was a great turn out with over 40 grandparents in attendance.   Some of the grandparents were former pupils of Dromakeenan!
After the prayer service grandparents accompanied their grandchildren to their classrooms where they were given a tour of the room, there was great excitement from both young and not so young! Sixth Class showed their grandparents their weaving and grandparents even joined in! Second Class interviewed their grandparents about what school was like when they were in primary school. The answers amazed the youngsters!

Then 2nd Class pupils showed their grandparents the new SCRATCH computer programming that they are using on the laptops, and finished with a song by the new Beatles – One Direction, and everyone joined in!

The pupils brought their grandparents to the hall where they served refreshments to their grandparents.

It was a fantastic and interesting day!

We hope you enjoy the slideshow of our ceremony and visitors!
