Board of Management To offset the costs of the work done in the car park over the Summer we will be holding a raffle in the run up to Christmas. The prizes for the raffle will be trailer loads of timber. The cost of the tickets will be €2 per line or 3 for €5. Tickets will be on sale from the school office and on a number of weekends before Christmas. The draw will be made at the Christmas Show. School Self Evaluation • Gaeilge Three sets of questionnaires have been distributed recently. • Thank you to all the parents who returned the questionnaires – your views are most welcome. • The pupils also filled in their questionnaires last week. • The teachers have just completed theirs too. December Newsletter 2015   Christmas Show Following weeks of practice our Christmas show was performed on Friday last at 11 00 am and again at 7 00 pm.  Both shows were very well attended with the evening show packed to the rafters.  Many of the incoming Junior Infants were delighted with the invitation and enjoyed the show immensely.  The pupils were thrilled to put on the concert for such enthusiastic audiences.  Well done to all the pupils who performed excellently. Board of Management The Board of Management election of parent nominees is proceeding with the first round completed.  Ballot papers to elect one father/guardian and one mother/guardian will be distributed after the Halloween break.  Each parent is entitled to vote for one mother/guardian and one father/guardian.  Ballot papers should be placed in a sealed envelope in the ballot box in the reception area by 12 noon on Wednesday 11th November.  Postal nominations clearly identified on the envelope as Board of Management Election will be accepted.   School Self Evaluation Maths for Fun will...

September Newsletter 2015 Junior Infants We welcome our new Junior Infants who have settled in very well.  The pupils are an energetic happy group and are delighted to join the rest of the school for assembly. School Self Evaluation Maths for Fun continues in First and Second Class.  The children are enjoying it greatly and the parents, grandparents and aunts have said they are enjoying it too.  Certificates will be presented on Wednesday 25th March to all the children who have taken part in the programme and to everyone who has helped this year. Parents Association AGM The Parents Association held its AGM recently.  Officers Michelle Ryan (Chairperson) and Tom Deegan (Secretary) have remained on in their respective positions, while Tom Curran has been elected to the position of Treasurer.  In her address Michelle welcomed everyone to the meeting and briefly described the work they had undertaken during the year.  Michelle thanked outgoing Treasurer Aidan Moloney for his work and dedication over the last three years.  Aidan gave a comprehensive outline of the finances, the biggest outlay again this year is for gymnastics, but this...

School Self Evaluation A training morning was held today for the parents who have volunteered for the Maths for Fun Programme.  The pupils from Senior Infants and Fourth Class will take part in the programme after the midterm and First and Second Class in the Spring.  Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help in this worthwhile initiative.   Visitors to the School Once again we were delighted to have the Slieve Bloom Story Tellers visit the school on Thursday 11th October.  Well known storyteller Michael Creagh told stories to all the children in the school.  Michael brought lots...

Scoil Chrónáin Naofa, Dromakeenan May Newsletter 2014 First Communion Class 2014 Congratulations  the children in Second Class who made their First Holy Communion on Sunday last.  The children making their First Communion looked beautiful on the day sang beautifully at the end of the ceremony.  Singing during the ceremony was performed by Third Class pupils along with siblings of the pupils making their First Communion.  Well done to all.     Board of Management Reminder:  The draft of our revised Anti Bullying Policy is currently on the website.  Any comments regarding the draft...
