We were lucky enough to be invited to a talk down in First Class by Eoghan Meagher. Eoghan is the Health and Safety Officer in Coolmore Stud and a parent in the school. We learned that farming is now the most dangerous job in Ireland. Eoghan taught us about hazzards and what we can do to avoid them. Keeva volunteered to be our safety model and Ms Higgins got “harnessed up” and “locked on” to the projector. Eoghan showed us a video about being safe in the farm yard, especially when slurry is being agitated. Thanks to Eoghan for visiting and teaching us to be safer.

We are delighted to have a wonderful woodland beside our school – indeed beside our class. We went for a walk and saw lots of different leaves. We took rubbings of the bark on different trees and compared them when we came back to class. We had great fun and are looking forward to our next walk.
