We were absolutely delighted this year to receive a phone call advising us that we had a winner in the INTO Handwriting Competition. Ava in Junior Infants had come first in the regional final! This is a great achievement ! Our delight was doubled when we received a second phone call telling us that Jamie in Aoibhneas Class 1 was also a prizewinner – Jamie had been awarded a Certificate of Achievement. Both pupils attended a function in Tullamore where they received their prizes. Well done Ava and Jamie!
In class 1 we have been reading all about The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We made some caterpillars out of card in art. We painted paper plates to make a big caterpillar for our display board. We also talked about the foods that the caterpillar ate. So, in keeping with our theme, we chose to make a caterpillar cake for feasty Friday this week! We got some buns and made some green and red icing. We placed the buns on a board in the shape of a caterpillar. We used sweets to decorate the caterpillars face and to add some feet! It looked brilliant!! it tasted as good too 24/05/13 ...

We played in the big ball pool, (much bigger than ours ) with slides and basketball and climbing frames. We then went bowling which was lots of fun. Then we had a yummy lunch together. It was such a fun day out. ….someone’s worn out
